New page

L/L Research is a US-registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation founded by Don Elkins, Carla L. Rueckert, and James Allen McCarty in 1980. It is the publisher and custodian of the Ra Material — five volumes of channelled material recorded between 15 January 1981 and 26 March 1984, comprising 106 sessions in which Rueckert acted as channel for the entity identifying itself as Ra, with Elkins as questioner and McCarty as scribe.

Within the Cosmic Codex cluster, L/L Research is treated as a primary input-channel for channelled cosmological content — particularly the Densities framework, the Service-to-Others vs Service-to-Self orientation taxonomy, and substantial portions of the cluster's metaphysical vocabulary.
History
* Founders. Donald T. Elkins (1930–1984) was a former University of Louisville professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and a commercial-airline pilot. Carla L. Rueckert (1943–2015) joined Elkins's research in 1968 and became the principal channel. James Allen McCarty joined in 1980 as scribe and editor.
* Pre-Ra channelling work (1962–1980). Elkins began UFO / paranormal research in 1955; conducted hypnotic-regression research; Rueckert developed channelling practice in the 1970s with material drawn from a "Confederation of Planets in the Service of the Infinite Creator" framework.
* Ra contact (1981–1984). 106 sessions conducted at Elkins's residence in Louisville, Kentucky. Sessions ended after the death of Elkins in November 1984; Ra had stated the contact required specific energetic conditions that depended on the questioner.
* Post-1984. Rueckert and McCarty continued L/L Research; published the five-volume Law of One set (originally 1982–1998) and subsequent material. Rueckert published a second channelled corpus through 2011. After Rueckert's death (2015), L/L Research continues under McCarty's leadership.
* Publication. All session transcripts and substantial supporting material are freely available at the L/L Research website under a permissive licence.

The Ra Material
The five-volume Law of One (also called The Ra Material) articulates a metaphysical framework that has had substantial influence on contemporary New-Age and disclosure-cluster discourse:

* Densities cosmology. Eight-density progression of consciousness from first density (elemental awareness) through eighth density (octave completion). Third density (current human stage) characterised by self-awareness and the polarity choice.
* Polarity / orientation taxonomy. Service-to-Others (STO) and Service-to-Self (STS) as the two principal harvest-paths from third density; with the unpolarised majority not harvested at fourth-density transition.
* Wanderers. Higher-density consciousnesses incarnating in third density to assist the planetary transition.
* Harvest concept. Cluster's central eschatological framing; fourth-density transition.
* Free-will and Confederation non-intervention. Methodological commitment to non-coercion characteristic of the Confederation framing.
* Mind / body / spirit complex. Tripartite anthropology underlying the framework.

Cluster Engagement
* Primary channel-source. L/L Research / Ra-material content is one of the most-cited channelled sources within the The Cosmic Codex cluster.
* Methodological care. Rueckert / Elkins / McCarty are widely regarded within cluster context as having operated with relatively careful methodology (consistent protocol, full session transcription, free publication, declining to commercialise).
* Framework adoption. Densities cosmology and STO/STS polarity taxonomy are widely adopted across cluster-adjacent discourse.

Critique and Calibration
* Channelled-content epistemological status. All channelled material faces the substantive question of whether content originates from claimed non-physical source, from subconscious / cryptomnesic production, or from some hybrid. L/L Research itself addresses this explicitly within the Ra material (Ra: "we ask each of those who consider this material to use discernment").
* Specific predictions. Some material includes time-bound predictions (notably surrounding the 2011–2013 fourth-density-transition window) that did not manifest in unambiguous form.
* Mainstream reception. Largely absent; the material has not been engaged within mainstream academic religious-studies or philosophy-of-mind literature outside specialist channelled-text scholarship.
