Quality

Quality is the third semantic category in Universal Language, with dependency rank 2. It introduces comparison and measure — the capacity to judge how things are, not merely that they exist or that they relate. Formal Definition

Quality is the semantic primitive that answers: how is it? It requires:

• Existing things that relate — you cannot judge the quality of non-existent, unrelated things
• Comparison — Quality is inherently comparative (there is no "hot" without "cold", no "good" without "bad")
• Continuous gradation — Qualities vary continuously ("slightly warm" → "warm" → "very hot")
• Hybrid nature — a Quality is a scalar judgment (a single value) that emerges from complex configurations

Quality does NOT create new things (Existence), connect things (Relation), transform things (Process), or categorize things (Concept). It characterizes them — it says how much or in what manner.

Why Quality Maps to Angle

1. Inherent comparativeness: Quality always measures relative to something. An Angle always measures between two Lines. Neither can be absolute.
