Hyper Drives (personal gear) are battle-tier propulsion systems that bring starship-class Hyperspace Drive technology down to personal equipment scale. This is not merely a speed boost — it IS a Hyper Drive, like a ship's Hyper Drive, just in personal gear format.
Hyperspace vs. Warp
Hyperspace and Warp are fundamentally different:

Personal Hyper Drive
A personal Hyper Drive allows the wearer to:
- Enter Hyperspace at personal scale — jumping into the hyperspace layer and traveling compressed distances
- Temporary movement boosts — brief hyperspace-assisted bursts of extreme speed
- FTL evasion — hyper-jumping out of danger at faster-than-light speed
- In-void fusion — Hyper Fusion generates Quantum Foam to perform fusion in zero-atmosphere environments where normal fusion cannot operate
Hyper Fusion Architecture
Hyper Fusion is fundamentally different from Turbo or Super Fusion:
- Turbo Fusion — turbo-compressor boost; high output but slow buildup
- Super Fusion — supercharger surge; instant but draws more power
- Hyper Fusion — uses Hyperspace Drive Tech to perform fusion at a completely new optimal architecture; generates quantum foam for in-void, no-atmosphere fusion
This means Hyper Drives are the only personal propulsion system that works in hard vacuum without atmospheric reaction mass — they create their own quanta for fusion.
