Universal Chemistry is the Universal Language sub-system applied to chemical processes. Molecular structures are UL geometry — atoms are points, bonds are lines, bond angles are angles, reaction pathways are curves, and molecules are enclosures.

Overview

Universal Chemistry treats chemical systems as direct expressions of UL's 5 geometric primitives. This is not merely an analogy — molecular orbital theory, crystallography, and reaction kinetics are all fundamentally geometric, and UL provides the formal language for expressing that geometry.

Chemical Primitives

UL Primitive Chemical Interpretation Example
Point Atom, nucleus, electron Hydrogen atom as the simplest UL point
Line Chemical bond (covalent, ionic, metallic) C-C bond in organic chemistry
Angle Bond angle, molecular geometry 109.5° in tetrahedral carbon (sp³)
Curve Reaction pathway, potential energy surface SN2 reaction trajectory
Enclosure Molecule, electron shell, orbital Benzene ring (○ enclosure with D₆ symmetry)

Symmetry and Chemistry

UL's group-theoretic grammar maps directly to chemical symmetry:

UL Enclosure Type Symmetry Group Chemical Realization
Circle (○) SO(2) / C∞ Linear molecules (CO₂, N₂)
Triangle (△) D₃ Trigonal planar (BF₃, NO₃⁻)
Square (□) D₄ Square planar (XeF₄, [PtCl₄]²⁻)
Pentagon (⬠) D₅ Pentagonal structures (C₅ cyclopentane, ferrocene)
Hexagon D₆ Benzene, graphene, hexagonal crystal systems
