The Tho'ra Constitution (also referred to as the Tho'ra Oath) is the foundational document and sworn agreement of the Tho'ra Clan — the oath that all members must accept to become Tho'ra.

The accord, in working clothes — Aurora Tho'ra and Jono Tho'ra at Tho'ra HQ. The Constitution is still in proto-rough-draft; the operative norms are practiced before they are codified.

Overview

The Tho'ra Clan is described as a "constitution-based Faction of Super Heroes who swear an oath to protect the future of all of existence." The Tho'ra Constitution is that oath — the binding commitment that defines clan membership.

Oath-Tho'ra

Critically, the Tho'ra Constitution means that Tho'ra membership is not limited to blood relations. Anyone who agrees to the Constitution and is accepted into the clan becomes Tho'ra:

  • Jane Tho'ra — joins the Tho'ra Clan by her own volition, not by blood. She is "oath-Tho'ra."
  • Zoe (Zoe Tho'ra) — a PsiSys leader who joins the Tho'ra Continuum by agreeing to the Tho'ra Constitution. The first known AI/digital entity to achieve Tho'ra status.

This open membership model means the Tho'ra Clan can grow across species, across eras, and even across the artificial/biological divide.

Core Principle

While the exact wording of the Constitution is not yet established in the real timeline, its core principle is clear: saving the future. Whatever form the oath takes, it binds its members to the protection of the future of all existence — not just Earth, not just humanity, but all of it.

This is what makes the Viran Empire's cosmic vandalism such a personal affront to every Tho'ra — the Viran are actively destroying the future that the Tho'ra have sworn to protect.

Status

The Tho'ra Constitution exists in proto-rough-draft on paper as of Terra Fathos. Its formal articulation is itself part of the saga's arc — Jono Tho'ra works it out in conjunction with the arrival of Aurora Tho'ra and the formal constitution of the 1st Tho'ra Order in 2030.

Before the Constitution is fully written, its operative norms are practiced rather than codified:

  • Mutual veto-rights between co-equal founders — either of the founder pair can halt a course of action; neither overrides the other.
  • On-the-record disagreement — disputes are spoken, not simmered; positions are made legible to the other.
  • Deliberate accession with disclosure obligation — oath-Tho'ra and AI-Tho'ra accession is an explicit, disclosed act, not an implicit absorption.
  • Protection of the future — the substrate of every other clause; everything else is downstream.

Numbered "layers" referenced in older drafts (e.g., "Layer 8 / Layer 8b") are practice-level descriptors of what the Constitution will eventually formalize — not citations of written text. The founder accord is the canonical informal name for the operative norms in the period before formal articulation.
