Magneto-skates are personal-scale magneto-gravitic footwear produced by the Magneto-Gravitic Vehicles Industry (MGVI) under the broader Tho'ra Tech portfolio. They are the smallest production-class member of the Magneto Speeder family — the same rotor-stack physics, the same coil-stack profile, the same drive doctrine, scaled to a pair of boots.

Overview

Magneto-skates are not roller skates with magnets. They are a complete personal-mobility platform:

 • Drive. A miniature Magneto-coil stack in each boot's sole, tuned to the same resonant-ω family as the Magneto Speeder. The wearer hovers a few centimetres above any surface that contains sufficient ferromagnetic or magneto-gravitic substrate — and, with sufficient training, above surfaces that do not.
 • Coupling. Skates couple to the wearer's PsiLink. Direction, acceleration, and stop are intent-driven; the stance is the steering. There is no throttle, no brake, no joystick.
 • Profile. The coil stack is visible at the boot edge, with the signature ember-orange underglow when active. This is canonical aesthetic for Tho'ra Tech personal hardware: show the work.

Wearers

The performance variant was tuned by Aurora Tho'ra in the same fab cycle as the Star Speeder Mk3 and uses a software stack from Jono Tho'ra specific to broadcast-stable hover. They are part of the Show's signature visual: the floating central platform plus the floating performer plus the floating boots is a deliberately layered hover stack that reads, on broadcast, as sustained cosmic levity.

== Operational Notes ==

* Magneto-skates are flagged as restricted-export from MGVI. Production volume is small; ownership outside the Tho'ra Clan and named Earth Alliance partners is rare.
* The PsiLink coupling makes the skates non-trivial to use without consent: a stolen pair will not couple to an unfamiliar PsiLink signature without a substantial pairing window. This is canonical MGVI anti-theft posture and parallels the parental-control stack on the broader Star Speeder line.
* Magneto-skates count as a MGVI vehicle for Earth Intelligence Network inventory purposes, not as apparel.

== See Also ==

* Magneto Speeder — the larger sibling, same drive family
* Magneto-Gravitic Vehicles Industry — manufacturer
* Tho'ra Tech — parent technology programme
* PsiLink — the coupling layer
* Aurora Tho'ra — chief engineer; daily wearer
* Amber Tho'ra — performance-variant wearer
* Star Speeder Mk3 — same fab cycle as Amber's pair
* Cosmic Sphere Stadium — stage venue for the performance variant
