NavCom
NavCom (Navigation-Communications) is the Tho'ra Clan's field navigation and tactical coordination system, modeled on military ATAK-class platforms and connected through the Earth Intelligence Network. It is the "how we move" layer of the operational stack: Star Seer sees the now, StarCom sees the planet, NavCom moves the team.
Function
NavCom provides field operators and Magneto Speeder / Exocraft crews with:
- Real-time geospatial position, route planning, and waypoint sharing.
- Tactical overlays — friendly positions, points of interest, no-go zones, evac corridors.
- Encrypted operator-to-operator and operator-to-StarCom comms.
- Star Seer tactical-data sharing (one operator's astrological/sensor read can be broadcast to the team).
- Resonant Pipeline approach coordination (timing, route, fallback).
NavCom is intentionally interoperable with Earth Alliance auxiliary tooling so that allied agencies can use compatible coordination during joint operations.
Maturity (Mk0 → Mk3)
See Tho'ra Tech Maturity Levels for the full convention.
| Mark | Phase | Status | Target Era |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mk0 | Cosplay-type | Encrypted-messenger + offline maps (complete) | Pre-Terra Novus (now) |
| Mk1 | Prototype | Active — mobile NavCom app | Solar Cycle 25 (2026–2031) |
| Mk2 | Test-type | Planned HelmKit HUD integration | Late Solar Cycle 25 / early Solar Cycle 26 (2030–2033) |
| Mk3 | Production-type | Projected vehicle-integrated cockpit | Solar Cycle 26+ (2032/2033–) |
Versions and Variants
- Mk0 — Group chat + paper map. Encrypted messenger + offline-cached maps + voice. Functional but unfused.
- Mk1 — Phone-class NavCom. Cross-platform mobile app, integrated mapping, EIN gateway for messaging. Bench/field-validated.
- Mk2 — HelmKit-integrated NavCom. HUD overlay, hands-free voice, multi-operator tactical picture.
- Mk3 — Vehicle-integrated NavCom. Full Magneto Speeder / Exocraft cockpit integration, autonomous route generation, mesh-network resilience.
Architecture
- Client — mobile, HelmKit HUD, or vehicle cockpit.
- Backhaul — Earth Intelligence Network decentralized routing (Web3).
- Map data — federated open-source basemap + Clan operational overlays.
- Crypto — end-to-end encrypted, operator-keyed.
Distinction from Sibling Systems
NavCom is to operators what StarCom is to analysts. They share the EIN backbone and exchange data, but StarCom is a deep-workstation OSINT platform while NavCom is a field-portable coordination layer.
