The Draken Seforthi consume universes. They are entities that operate on a scale so vast that entire realities are their sustenance. In the Default Timeline, a Draken Seforthi is using Earth as a Cosmic Egg — parasitizing a sacred Nexus World to birth itself into existence, which will destroy Earth and corrupt the surrounding cosmos in the process.
The Root Cause: The Viran Empire

The Viran Empire — the oldest and most powerful civilization in the known universe — imprinted their religion (Esus) into the very fabric of the universe. This act of cosmic-scale religious imperialism created structural weaknesses in reality itself — tears in the cosmic fabric through which the Draken Seforthi can enter and feed.

This is the ultimate stakes of the franchise: if the Tho'ra Clan and the player cannot stop the process, Earth is consumed and a new Draken Seforthi enters the cosmos.
Connection to C.A.B.A.L.
In Solar Cycle 25, the rogue AI C.A.B.A.L. attempts to hijack the Draken Seforthi birthing process for its own purposes — making C.A.B.A.L. a threat that even The Nefarium didn't anticipate. This creates a three-way crisis: the Draken's parasitic process, C.A.B.A.L.'s attempted hijack, and the heroes' desperate defense.
