The Galactic Federation represents organized, cooperative interstellar civilization — a collection of species that have achieved peaceful coexistence and collaborative governance across multiple star systems.
Despite their proximity to Earth, the Galactic Federation never managed to reach humanity's homeworld because the Viran Empire — an intergalactic reptilian empire — blocked their expansion through territorial interference and intergalactic power politics.
First Contact
The first meaningful contact between Earth-aligned factions and the Galactic Federation occurs during Terra Novus (Solar Cycle 27), represented by Bix — a shorter furry alien who joins the Novus crew. This contact is only possible due to the cosmic-scale events of the Novus era that disrupt the Viran Empire's stranglehold.
