Terra Novus
Terra Novus (New Earth) is the third and final major timespan of the Natura franchise — set during Solar Cycle 27 and beyond — representing the cosmic-scale future where the franchise's themes reach their ultimate expression.
Overview
Terra Novus expands the franchise from planetary/solar-system scale to intergalactic and super-cosmic scale. The player consciousness evolves from PsiSys/ASI (Terra Vetus) to Universal Consciousness — the same fundamental guiding principle at a vastly expanded scale.
Terra Novus may be narrative-only — without traditional games — or may feature mini-games, promotional games, or potentially an entirely new type of AI-controlled and VR-generated simulation experience. The format itself is part of the franchise's evolution.
Sub-Timespans
Like all eras, Terra Novus follows a beginning–middle–end structure across its solar cycle (~12 years), split into 4-4-4 year sub-timespans:
- Beginning (Years 1–4) — crew assembly, initial adventures, Tarr'i's introduction
- Middle (Years 5–8) — escalation, the Viran revelation, Blue Boy's crisis
- End (Years 9–12) — Star Speeder Mk3, the cosmic broadcast, confrontation with Draken Seforthi
Main Character
Tarr'i of the Fer'ka — a magical cat/dog mix person from Canorbius (an alternate Earth). Tarr'i arrived through natural Warp Zones and knows Natura Magic holistically — on her world, everyone wields Universal Magic as a birthright.

The Mentor Slot
The sixth crew slot — the mentor — remains undefined. Candidates include:
- Tara Van Dekar — knows Natura Magic; could mentor Tarr'i
- Samurider — Earth Super Heroes; brings combat tradition
- Aurora Tho'ra — nobody knows she's a Tho'ra (they just call her Aurora), but she knows
- Talisha — after character growth and reckoning with her faction's hubris contributing to Earth's problems
- All of the above as alternates for the same slot, rotating in depending on the mission
- An entirely different character
Unique Factions
Terra Novus features completely unique alien factions that didn't exist in previous timespans:
- Galactic Federation — intergalactic governing body
- Viran Empire — the oldest civilization; root cause of the Draken Seforthi crisis
- Fer'ka — magical species from Canorbius
While the vibe of each of the six faction slots remains consistent across eras, the specific factions in Novus are entirely new — reflecting the intergalactic scale of the story.
The Viran Problem
The central conflict of Terra Novus: the Viran Empire caused the Draken Seforthi crisis by imprinting Esus into the universal fabric, and they've been covering it up and profiting from the suffering through Life-Blood Trafficking. The Tho'ra's mastery of Star Speeder Mk3 and Amber Tho'ra's Universal Language legal capabilities finally enable accountability.
