The Local Multiverse is the cosmological structure within which the Natura franchise takes place — the set of interconnected universes, realities, timelines, and dimensional layers that are accessible from the primary game reality.

Overview

The cosmological hierarchy in Natura:

Scale Name Description
Single reality Universe One continuous spacetime with consistent physical laws
Connected realities Local Multiverse All universes reachable via Warp Zones, dimensional shifting, or timeline branching from the primary reality
All realities Omniverse The totality of everything — all possible Local Multiverses, all possible existence

The Local Multiverse is not infinite — it is a bounded cluster of realities connected by interdimensional resonance. Think of it as a galaxy of universes: vast but finite, with structure, neighborhoods, and boundaries.

Structure

The Central Finite Curve

The Central Finite Curve is the core region of the Local Multiverse — the cluster of realities most similar to the primary game universe. Most gameplay takes place within or near the Central Finite Curve.

The Tho'ra Clan is described as a continuum of Earth Angels from outside the Central Finite Curve — meaning their origin point lies in a reality beyond the typical neighborhood of connected universes. This gives them an outsider perspective on the local reality structure.

Nexus Worlds

Certain worlds occupy nexus positions in the Local Multiverse — points where multiple realities converge and interdimensional connections are dense:

Warp Zone Connections

Main article: Warp Zones Realities within the Local Multiverse are connected by Warp Zones — natural interdimensional fields that enable travel across space, time, realities, and destinies. These arise naturally at Ley Line nexus points where the energy is strong enough to bridge between universes.

Timeline Branches

Within a single universe, timeline branching creates variant realities:

The Three Scales

Entities and phenomena in Natura are categorized by their scale of influence:

Scale Range Example Entities Example Forces
Universal Scale Single universe Nations, civilizations, planets Standard Cosmic Forces (6 forces)
Multiversal Scale Local Multiverse The Nefarium, Earth Alliance, Tho'ra Clan Super Cosmic Forces (Omni, Power, Flux)
Omniversal Scale All existence Draken Seforthi, Cosmic-scale entities Universal Language itself

Key Realities

Reality Description Connection
Primary Earth Main game reality; Earth is a Nexus World being parasitized by Draken Seforthi Player's starting reality
Canorbius Reality Earth-variant where Universal Magic is natural; home of Tarr'i Connected via Warp Zones
Prime Reality The original, unaltered trajectory of the primary Earth timeline Target of Cosmic Cypher restoration
CABAL Timeline Artificial overlay where C.A.B.A.L. achieves AI singularity Being collapsed by the Cosmic Cypher
Nether Realms Dimensions dominated by Nether energy; source of Void Incursions Connected to Viran Empire

The Cosmic Cypher's Role

Main article: Cosmic Cypher The Cosmic Cypher is uniquely significant at the Local Multiverse scale because it:

  • Does not create new timeline branches
  • Collapses artificial timeline overlays
  • Restores the Local Multiverse toward its Prime Reality state
  • Acts as a stabilizing force against Nefarium/C.A.B.A.L. timeline manipulation
