Psionic Defenses are the base-tier defensive systems of the Fusion Engine Suit, providing passive and active protection against mental, energetic, and physical threats. They encompass a family of related defense technologies that operate through psionic technology.
Defense Types
Psionic Fields
Generated by Psi Emitters distributed across the suit, psionic fields create invisible barriers that interfere with incoming attacks at a fundamental level. These fields can absorb, deflect, or redirect hostile energy.
Communications Shielding
Psionic defenses include hardened communication channels — preventing enemy Psi Weapons from intercepting, jamming, or corrupting PsiLink transmissions between the suit, other Tho'ra, and the PsiNet.
Aura Generation
The suit can project a psionic aura around the wearer — a visible or invisible energy field that provides:
- Passive threat detection (the aura reacts to hostile intent)
- Environmental shielding (radiation, temperature extremes, pressure)
- Psychological deterrence (enemies sense the aura's power)
Reality Distortion Fields
Advanced psionic defenses can subtly warp local reality to make the wearer harder to target — bending light, shifting probability, or creating momentary spatial distortions.
Glitch Tech Defenses
Main article: Glitch Tech Glitch Tech operates on Psi Tech as its foundation. Defensive glitch-tech creates localized reality errors that cause incoming attacks to "glitch" — misfire, lose coherence, or redirect.
Angel Tech Defenses
Main article: Angel Tech Angel Tech is a more powerful divine sub-domain of Psi Tech. Angel Tech defenses invoke Scalar White Light and other high-order psionic phenomena for protection against spiritual and extradimensional threats — particularly effective against shadow entities and demonic beings.
PsiSys Integration
PsiSys runs on a mesh network of Neural Network Hardware connected to Psi Emitters. This architecture enables:
- Dynamic reconfiguration — PsiSys can transmute and reconfigure defenses in real-time response to threats
- Threat classification — automatic identification of attack types and optimal defense selection
- Communication via Psionic Field Projection — maintaining secure comms even under attack
Vulnerability: PsiSys defenses are generally vulnerable if operating in an open state when a Psi Attack hits. The system needs a moment to reconfigure — a skilled attacker exploits this window.
